In general, solar powered garden lights work best as accent lights. This is because solar powered garden lights are, for the most part, weaker than the their electricity-powered counterparts.

Of course, solar powered garden lights are getting brighter as technology improves. This is especially good for those people who want to use their lights for security purposes – in instances of security, brighter is better, and accent lights just won’t cut it.

These newer, brighter solar powered garden lights are powered by stronger solar cells and more efficient batteries. Light emitting diode lamps (LED lamps) have also made a big difference – they are very efficient, using little energy for an bright light output.
